WildJunket Magazine out on 16 January 2012!

Posted on January 12, 2012 by

I’m psyched to announce that we’re officially launching WildJunket Magazine next Monday, 16th January 2012. It will be on sale here - where you can subscribe and get the magazine delivered to your mailbox as a downloadable PDF and an online flipbook. The iOS and Android versions will be available via our magazine partner, Magzter. A preview of each issue will also be published here on WildJunket.com.

A tremendous amount of hard work has gone into creating this publication – I have so many people to thank: my husband and magazine co-founder, Alberto, who’s worked day and night on the design; contributors who have helped shape this magazine and bring it to life; blogger friends who have supported me; and most of all - you, my readers, for always being by my side. A huge thank you for making this dream a reality.

What’s in the First Issue

Our inaugural issue is packed with inspirational, first-hand stories from various corners of the world, starting off with a cover feature, ‘Ice World’, about my own journey to the Arctic – bringing you through the ice fields and glaciers with me. We’ve also got features on the deserts of Namibia, the frankincense trail in Oman, lush jungles of Nepal, and the indigenous Sámi people of Swedish Lapland and as well as a comprehensive travel guide on China. In our Under the Radar department, we’re featuring Macedonia, a largely unexplored part of the world often overlooked by travelers. Our contributing editor Candace Rose Rardon also reports about her culinary finds from Hyderabad for our Feast section. The issue promises plenty of engaging travel stories and photo essays so be prepared to be entertained and inspired on different levels.

$3,000 Worth of Prizes to Give Away

To celebrate the launch, we have collaborated with our travel partners to give away attractive prizes worth $3,000 – including a free trip with G Adventures! The action-packed six-day Yosemite and Monterey Active Escape  - worth US$1,875 – brings you through some of the world’s most amazing scenery. Kayak along the incredible coastline of Monterey Bay, bike the famous 17-Mile Drive, hike along the spectacular trails of Yosemite and take in the best California has to offer.

Other prizes include two Roomarama apartment rental vouchers worth US$300 each, which can be used at any of their 30,000 properties in over 500 global destinations; as well as a Hummingbird WideMouth Carry-on travel bag (pictured right) and two Pentonvillain thermal sets (one male and one female).
