There are some things in life that are so beautiful they often leave us speechless and moved to tears. For me, watching sunset along the Baobab Avenue in Madagascar is one of them. The Avenue du Baobab in Western Madagascar might be one of the most touristy spots in the country, but its natural beauty is hard to resist.
As we gathered along the row of unique-looking baobab trees, we watched in silence as the giant orange yolk bathe the sandy-brown desert in a blanket of gold. The colors shimmered and dazzled, changing from bright vermillion to mandarin orange and slowly wispy gold before the sun disappeared beyond the horizon. It took place in a matter of minutes but to see the movement of the sun and the transformation of light before us was enough to take our breathe away. Here are some photos we shot during sunset, hope you can feel the magic as much as we did.

Looks awesome! I love watching the sunrise and sunset on my journeys. The sunrise is still probably my favorite though as I love watching the sun slowly creeping up and lighting up the land. It really is the best way to bring in a day and start it out right. A good sunset at the end of the day can also bring a great to a close as well.
Some of my favorite shots from my journey to Namibia last year came at sunrise/sunset. It was their winter so the sunrise was at 7ish and the sunset was at 5ish. Making it very manigible to watch both in a day. The whole month I was there I don't think I missed a single one.

Thanks Michela! I didn\’t know there were baobab trees in Western Australia too – been there when I was a kid. The baobabs in Madagascar are truly impressive – all of them huge, tall and massive and many are as old as 1200 years old!
