Green Travel: 7 Luxury Eco-Retreats

Posted on May 12, 2010 by

In recent years, green travel is getting the attention that it rightfully deserves. Treading lightly, traveling responsibly and avoid leaving any carbon footprint as we travel can help sustain the environment, or at least prevent further damage to our planet. Unfortunately, traveling often causes a certain degree of destruction to the environment and local communities if we are not careful with our own actions.

To reduce this impact, several eco luxury lodges have made minimizing environmental impact as their aim.  For the environmentally-friendly traveler, here are some excellent retreats to indulge and unwind.

1. Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge, Costa Rica

The open-air concept of the Playa Nicuesa Lodge fits perfectly to the jungle backdrop, letting you get in touch with nature while you sleep or dine. Overlooking the jungle and sea of the Golfo Dulce/Osa Peninsula, each wooden cabin opens up to a view. Decked out in a rustic jungle theme, the cabins are exquisite.

What a great list. I love the mix of eco-chic resorts and plain old camping (with a luxe twist), especially the Bahamas property. Feel free to drop by and check out our Bahamas hotel video profiles to see exactly what each has to offer.http://www.voyage.tv/the_bahamas_hotel_videos.htm

This site seems to get a large ammount of visitors. How do you get traffic to it? It gives a nice individual twist on things. I guess having something real or substantial to talk about is the most important factor.
